Battlegrounds Open Challenge (BMOC) 2022

The BMOC 2022 is a qualifier tournament for the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) season 1. It will have a prize pool of INR 2 crore.

The BMOC has been running for a month now and the final round is about to begin. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming round including all of the competing teams, results, schedule, and more.

Qualifications & Qualified Teams

After more than a month of intense competition, the Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge (BMOC 2022) is coming to its final round.

During the fourth and final qualifier round, 32 qualified teams will meet 32 invited teams, taking on each other in a bid to secure 24 spots for Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series Season 1 (BMPS).

The first professional BGMI tournament of 2022 is scheduled to start in March with 512 in-game qualifying matches. Only 256 of these 512 teams will advance to the second round and battle for 64 seats in the third round.

This will be followed by the BMPS Season 1 League Stage and Grand Finals. These stages are set to feature 24 teams in each and 24 matches in total, with the winner of BMPS Season 1 being awarded a share of the INR 2 crore prize pool.

Invited Teams

There are 64 teams in total which will be competing in the fourth and final round of BMOC 2022.

32 of these teams have made their way through the open qualifiers while the other 32 teams have been directly invited.

All the 64 teams will be equally divided into four groups of 16 teams each, competing among themselves as the top six teams from every group qualify for BMPS Season 1.

Prize pool

The BMOC 2022 prize pool will be the highest for any esports tournament in India so far. Krafton has revealed that a total of six crores INR will be divided between four BGMI events, including the BMOC and two Pro Series tournaments.

Registration for BMOC 2022 will open on March 14 and run until March 27. Players can register for a team on the official Battlegrounds Mobile India Esports website.

BMOC 2022 will feature 32 qualifying teams and 32 Invited teams, competing in a round-robin format for a spot in BMPS Season 1. The winner of the tournament will earn a share of 75 lakhs INR.

BMOC 2022 will kick off with the first in-game qualifiers starting at the end of March. Each stage will halve the number of teams involved until the final 32 qualified teams are ready to go up against the invited ones for the BMPS Season 1 prize money. The tournament is set to last over a month and will conclude with the top 24 qualifying teams making it into BMPS Season 1.

Format

The fourth and final round of BMOC 2022 will see 64 teams competing in a bid to qualify for BMPS Season 1. 32 of these teams were able to make it through the open qualifiers while the remaining 32 were directly invited.

The BMOC 2022 Round 4 is a combination of qualified and directly invited teams being split into four mixed groups of 16 teams each, scheduled to take place from 11^th to 15^th May.

The qualified teams will be divided into four groups and each group will play a minimum of six matches. The top six teams from each group will progress to the BMPS League Stage.

In addition, the qualified teams will compete against a few additional invited teams in the first round of the BMPS Pro Series. These teams will compete in a round-robin format and the team with the highest cumulative score will be crowned the winner of the tournament.

The registration process for BMOC 2022 will take place from March 14th to 27th. Players can register on the official BGMI Esports website. Upon successful registration, players will receive a confirmation mail on their registered email id that they have been selected for the BMOC 2022.

Each group will play six matches based on which the overall standings will be prepared for every group. The top six teams from each group will qualify for the BMPS Season 1 scheduled to take place from 19^th May to 12^th June.

Schedule

Krafton recently announced a series of four esports tournaments for 2022. They are BMOC, BMPS Season 1, Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS), and BGPS Season 2.

The first official event, BMOC, will feature open qualifiers for amateur players across the country. Registrations will start in March, and the tournament will have a prize pool of 2 crore rupees.

Upon completion, the top 24 teams will be invited to play in BMPS Season 1 and fight for one of the largest prize pools in India. The top 24 will be divided into three groups and will compete in a round-robin format.

The fourth and final round of BMOC will bring together 64 teams, including 32 qualified and 32 invites. Here, the invited teams will face the qualified ones in an intense match.
