IPL 2023 Season Highlight
IPL 2023 season highlight
The Indian Premier League (IPL) has had 15 seasons and is the world’s most watched Twenty20 cricket tournament. It is run by the Board of Control for Cricket in India and is the second highest paying sporting event in the world.
RR retain Devdutt Padikkal and Lockie Ferguson from RCB
Left-hand batter Devdutt Padikkal will be retained by Rajasthan Royals for the 2023 season. He was bought by the side from RCB for INR 7.75 crore.
New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson has been traded to Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 1.2 crore. He has been a key player for Gujarat Titans this season, picking up 12 wickets in 13 matches.
RCB’s biggest buy was England’s Will Jacks who fetched INR 3.2 crore. It was a record-breaking bid for an international player to RCB in IPL auction.
India’s Himanshu Sharma and Reece Topley were the other players from the country that RCB paid more than a crore for in the auction. Besides, the team also bought five uncapped Indians.
Delhi Capitals have a lot of talent in their squad and will look to build an attacking lineup around Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw. They will likely want to add a pacer and a middle-order batsman to their ranks, with the likes of Ben Stokes and Cameroon Green potentially feasible options.
Punjab could opt to go for a flamboyant opener or an anchor batsman. Their high-risk, high-reward approach with the ball is prone to collapses and they might want to invest in someone who can stabilise the innings or steady the ship in the face of early wickets.
IPL 2023 has still much more possible surprise in this season, and we’ll keep updating the latest news!
